Wharton Center Hosts:

Art from the Heart

Celebrating the Creativity of Persons with Disabilities

An Interview with Peckham Art Program Director Susan McGuire

zPeckham’s Art from the Heart program will exhibit work from more than 30 artists in Wharton Center’s Grand Foyer July 11 through August 14, 2008. Supported by Peckham, Inc., Art from the Heart was developed to provide professional and supportive instruction in the visual arts to persons with disabilities.

The community and media are invited to attend an Artist Reception, Sunday, July 13, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Wharton Center’s Grand Foyer.  Daytime viewing is by appointment by calling Wharton Center House Management at 517.353.1982, ext. 119. Viewing is also possible during evening performances of WICKED, July 16 through August 10.

“The Wharton Center is pleased to host this exhibit and reception,” said Nina Silbergleit, Wharton Center’s Events Coordinator & House Manager. “When you view this art there is clearly a unique relationship between the artist and the work. These artists really demonstrate how art has the ability to open the soul.”
